Terms of use

These terms cover the use of clanaudit.com. By reading the site you accept them. If a passage does not sit right with you, the desk would rather hear about it than lose you: write to studio@clanaudit.com.

1. What this site is

ClanAudit is an information and review site about mobile games published on Google Play. Every entry is the considered opinion of the editorial desk, formed by applying the published seven-point sheet to a title on real handsets. An opinion is not a guarantee: another reader may reasonably reach a different conclusion about the same game.

The site does not distribute applications, does not host installers and does not run any game. Downloads happen on Google Play, under Google’s own terms and the terms of the studio that made the title.

2. Advertising disclosure

These pages carry advertising placements. Studios and advertising providers can place advertising on the site, and some links to Google Play listings are placed commercially.

The order of the catalogue, the notes and the audit outcome are decided before any placement is discussed, and no advertiser is shown an entry before it is published. A placement can put a title in front of you; it cannot change a score, remove a note or move an entry up the page. Where a link or block is commercial, it is labelled next to the item.

3. Figures quoted from Google Play

Star ratings, review counts and developer names are copied from the Google Play listing of each title on the day of the audit, and that date is recorded with them. Listings change over time. If a figure on this site no longer matches the store, the store is correct and the entry is corrected or pulled at the next cycle.

4. No affiliation

ClanAudit is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or otherwise connected to Google LLC, to Google Play, or to any studio or developer named on the site. Product names, marks and logos belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the applications being reviewed.

5. Intellectual property

• Application icons, screenshots and titles belong to the studios and rights holders who created them. They appear here for the purpose of reporting on and reviewing those applications.
• The editorial text, the seven-point sheet, the layout and the design of this site belong to ClanAudit.
• You may quote short passages with a clear reference to clanaudit.com. Republishing whole entries, or reproducing the site’s design, needs written permission from the desk.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to interfere with the site, its hosting or its availability to other readers.
• Do not scrape the site automatically at a rate that affects other readers, and do not misrepresent the desk’s conclusions.
• Do not submit another person’s e-mail address to the alert form.

7. Links to other sites

Links lead to Google Play listings and, occasionally, to studio pages. Those destinations are run by other organisations under their own terms and privacy practices, and ClanAudit has no control over what appears there or how it changes.

8. Availability and accuracy

The site is provided as published, without a promise that it will be available without interruption or that every entry will fit a particular purpose or device. Entries are written with care and corrected when readers or studios point out a mistake, but no site can promise that a third-party application will behave the same way on every handset.

To the extent permitted by law, ClanAudit is not liable for loss arising from reliance on an entry, from the use of a third-party application, or from a service outage. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Alert list

Joining the alert list is voluntary and can be cancelled at any time using the link in the e-mail or by writing to the desk. Browser notifications require a separate permission that your browser asks for, and it can be turned off again in browser settings. Details are handled as described in the privacy notice.

10. Changes to these terms

Terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and reading the site after a change means the updated terms apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the State of Victoria. Disputes fall to the courts of that state, without affecting any right you have to bring a matter before a body in your own place of residence where the law allows it.
